Looking at Educational Technology, Digital Literacy, etc., I keep running across "21st Century Skills." Do any of you have some background on this?
Speaking of Digital Literacy... In Will Richardson's book p. 126 it states, "For more than a hundred years we have defined being literate as being able to read and to write." How does Digital Literacy fit in to the definition of being literate? Or, does it?

Yup, I think so. I can't imagine a person being able to be fully successful in our society without being able to navigate digital "texts"--print and non-print. It's part of all of our lives and we and our kids need to know how to navigate it and use it successfully both to understand and create media. I would certainly include it in today's definition of literacy. That's my 2 cents. Can you tell I'm in Media Lit. this semester? :)
